A brief history. Shaw-Belden Insurance Agency was founded in 1961 by Carl and Lorraine Belden. When Carl retired in 1978, Belden Insurance Agency was purchased by Jim Belden (Carl's son) and his wife, Diane, and Ed and Bonelle Shaw. The name was changed to Shaw-Belden Insurance Agency. In 1984, the Jim Wigton
Agency in Dexter was purchased. Ed Shaw operated the agency until his death
in June, 1992. His interest in the agency was purchased by Jim and Diane
Belden. The agency's offices are at 122 NW 2nd Street in Stuart and 711
Marshall Street in Dexter. The Stuart office is manned by John Gulbranson,
Diane Belden and Kari Schneider. Lauren Volz works out of the Dexter office.
